Home and Housing

Here are some tips if you’re planning on moving in Quebec

Quebec is a really welcoming place. It clearly is a good choice if you don’t feel at home in the country you currently live in. It offers many jobs, affordable homes and a good overall life quality. Canada actually figures in the top ten of the happiest countries in the world so many people want to move here every year. If you’re one them, there are few things you need to know, but don’t worry, if you make mistakes, an immigration law firm will help you get out of trouble.

Housing

When you move to another country, one of the first things you need to know is where you’ll live. First you’ll have to choose in which city you want to start your new life. Montreal is the most popular one because it’s the most famous. You’ll be able to find many job offers, rents and activities. You also have Quebec City, the capital city of the province. As in Montreal, you’ll easily find jobs and rents. You’ll have a smaller choice of activities but cheaper rents and a nice vintage atmosphere because Quebec is a really charming city.

Looking for an apartment can be difficult if you don’t know where to look. Craig’s List is pretty popular in many countries, but here, it’s not the main website to find a new home. Kijiji offers the largest amount of housings and is also safer because you are not as likely to find fraudulent offers as on Craig’s List. It still is possible so be prudent.

Jobs

Finding a job is also an important aspect of moving abroad. Many people have to move because they have an interesting job offer in another country, but some people want to move because they want to discover new things or they don’t feel at home where they live and want to try something new to change that. If you identify to the second group, you’ll have to find a job. We currently have an important need of new staff in many fields such as retail, programming, health, food, etc. so you probably won’t struggle while you look for a job that fits with your interests and your skills. You can obviously check on Indeed if you want to find job offers in your field, but you’ll probably have more success on websites like Emploi-Quebec or Jobboom because the boss tend to be more likely to answer than on Indeed.
